Vaški dan

Vaški dan je kulturno etnološka prireditev, ki jo vsako leto 15. avgusta organizira Turistično društvo Rateče na vaškem trgu (na Gorici).

Domačinke in domačini oblečejo narodne noše (veliko noš je starih preko 100 let), ki jih z veseljem pokažejo turistom in obiskovalcem. Posebej zanimiva je predstavitev izdelave "žokov" - izvirnih rateških obuval.  Prizadevne vaščanke in vaščani prikažejo celoten postopek   predelave volne in izdelave "žokov".

The Village Day is a cultural and ethnological  event  first  organized by the Tourist Board in 1979. It takes place  every  15 th August  on the village square called Gorica. Local people, dressed in national costumes - most of them   more than 100 years old-  demonstrate old customs such as the procedure in wool production  (from shearing the sheep to the final woolen products), making brandy etc. Visitors can also admire a sales show of  beautiful  needle-work, taste typical local food  specialities, enjoy in traditional songs by local  choir  and in typical old dances performed by a well-known local folk group.
